Kansas City Youth Ultimate Regional Championships
May 7, Frontier Middle School, Olathe KS |
To 2016 Coaches:
We want to thank you again for choosing to attend and compete at the 2016 Kansas City Youth Ultimate Championships. Expect your teams to have a lot of fun at this flagship event for Kansas City Youth Ultimate (KCYU). IMPORTANT - be sure to share this information as soon as possible with any of your captains, players, teacher sponsors and especially players’ parents/legal guardians. Remember, a waiver is required to play. Update: even if you have previously signed a waiver for a KCYU event, we will require a new waiver for this year’s tournament. What should we wear? Be sure to bring both a light (non-gray) and a dark t-shirt/jersey. Cleats are highly recommended (no metal spikes); however ordinary closed-toed running/cross-trainer shoes are required. What should we bring? Recommended items to bring include:
When should we arrive? Registration opens at 9am on Saturday. You may of course arrive earlier to warm-up and setup. If you did not register all of your players online, you may register on the day of the event; however to expedite the process, we have attached our Roster Template to this message if you opt to forward to [email protected] prior to May 7th. What is needed at game-day registration? Please bring your entire team up to sign-in for the day and drop off your waiver. At this point you will also be able to provide us additional roster information and indicate if your players have any dietary restrictions for lunch. Where are the fields located? As a reminder, the event will be held at Frontier Trail Middle School [15300 W 143rd St, Olathe, KS, 66062]. Click here for directions using Google Maps. Where should we park? There are a few options for parking. The main lot from the south side of the fields is off 143rd just west of S Black Bob Rd. There are about 40 spaces around the circle drive and ample parking around the back of the school. If you wish to park on the north side of the fields there are about 80 spots located at Briarwood Elementary which can be found by driving north on Brougham Drive from 143rd Street. What will the schedule look like?
How many games can we expect to play? All teams should expect to play 4-5 games. Game play will range from 60-75 minutes depending upon the number of teams. There is a possibility of bye rounds; although this is subject to the number of teams as well. What will be served for lunch? Yes, this maybe the second biggest question besides “what time do games start?” Sandwiches and chips. We recommend you bring additional game-time snacks if you would like but we ask that you please pick up after each game. Will there be restrooms? Yes, we have secured access to the school’s bathrooms for the day. In case of an emergency, what can we do? As a reminder, waivers are required for all participating team members (as stated the above sections). While there will be adults on site, we respect that in circumstances of medical need, that care would best be administered by a certified medical professional. The nearest hospital is Olathe Medical Center (a 10 min drive). Click here for directions. (20333 W 151st St, Olathe, KS 66061). What if I have questions? Do not hesitate to contact us via email, phone or social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) Thanks again for registering. You are a big part of the future of Ultimate in Kansas City and the Midwest Region.
